I've seen a few of us talk about Doctor Who on the blog so I figured I would start a thread for the show with the new season. So what do you all think of the new season? Thoughts on Peter Capaldi as The Doctor?
I liked the season premier enough and I really enjoyed last weeks episode going inside a Dalek. As for Capaldi, not sure yet. I think I like him, I'm a fan of his dry humor and his slightly darker take on The Doctor. I'm sure he'll be fine as The Doctor, it just takes me a while to warm up to a new one. Gotta say, I'm glad Clara is leaving on the Christmas special. Not sure why but I never really took to Clara.

It probably would have been better if he'd done something else between being Malcolm Tucker & being The Doctor. I'm still half expecting him to be telling Daleks to come the fuck in or fuck the fuck off. Like you said though, we'll all be completely used to him in a year or so....and then he'll decide he's sick of it and abruptly quit, and the cycle will begin again.

Watched the Capaldi premiere after giving up halfway through Smith's run, what a God-awful episode. Promised myself I'd give the writing more time but here I am still haven't motivated myself to watch the second episode.

I enjoyed most of Smiths run myself (once Amy and Rory left I felt there was a dip in quality though). The second episode is better than the first though.

MILD SPOILERS for US viewers who won't have seen 'Robots of Sherwood' yet
This was a very good episode, I reckon. A lot of fun (as the Dr Who 'historicals' usually are) with Capaldi really coming into his own as The Doctor. Tom Riley was fun as Robin Hood, and Jenna Coleman looked gorgeous in her period costume.
Favourite little moment: Clara saying "You can take the girl out of Blackpool...." A nice nod to Jenna's (and my!) real home town. Reading an interview with her last year, apparently she went to school just 1/2 a mile away from me. Local girl done good!
