I love them. Also great for background noise. What are some of your favorites? Fincher commentaries are always great.

I enjoy commentary tracks too. It's Always Sunny has some great commentary tracks being funny while insightful. They also do a great job of avoiding the clutter of using too many people. Oddly enough the early Saw movies also had fun commentary tracks. Funny as hell.

Oh yeah, I love behind-the-scenes stuff and trivia stuff, so I always try to get extras-filled DVDs. I particularly love "Pleasantville"'s commentary with writer/director Gary Ross, who does a great job with taking the viewer through what he was trying to accomplish or what he did/didn't do in scenes. I think that was one of the best ones in terms of getting into the creative process of making a movie.
The best ones were Roger Ebert's commentary for Dark City and Citizen Kane. Ebert had an extensive knowledge of sci-fi and he was so articulate in being able to express why Dark City is such a masterpiece, and Citizen Kane's commentary should be required viewing for anyone who doesn't know why CK is such a watershed film. It's nearly impossible to listen to Roger explain everything that film does that was groundbreaking and what we take for granted now and not have a better appreciation for CK.

I love me a good DVD/Blu-Ray commentary track, like you said Cult it can make for great background noise.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: These were the first commentary tracks I really listened to and damn are a few of them good. The Joss Whedon ones are fantastic, specifically for "Innocence", "The Body" and "Once More with Feeling". Also from Joss the Avengers commentary is really good and the sing along commentary from Doctor Horrible is fun.
This Is Spinal Tap: The group doing the commentary in character is just fucking hilarious. For something similiar, Tropic Thunder with RDJ doing his commentary in character-in character like he states in the actual movie, funny stuff there too.
True Romance and Dusk Till Dawn: Quentin Tarantino just being himself, great stuff.
Godfather 1 and 2: Francis Ford Coppola. If you are a fan of these two movies this is a must listen.

Quentin does a great track with director Edgar Wright for Hot Fuzz.
